Dr. Shally graduated from University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland in 2023 and received the McGeady Memorial Medal in Vet Surgery in her final year. Prior to her veterinary degree, she completed an Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) where she majored in Physiology. Throughout her time at vet school, she completed a variety of externships in equine, small and large animal practice. Initially Dr Shally had a keen interest in pursuing a career in Equine, however she fell in love with small animal practice while working part-time in a Small Animal Emergency Clinic in Dublin. Her career interests include emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. She is a certified Fear Free Practitioner (FFCP) who feels passionate about adopting a fear free approach, which utilizes evidence-based techniques to help reduce fear, anxiety and stress in our pets when visiting the Veterinary Hospital.
Having recently moved to Canada, in her spare time, she enjoys playing Gaelic football and exploring all Toronto has to offer, including ketchup chips and finding the best Guinness! She still has a love for all things horses and is a proud dog mom to her Irish Setter, Lillie.
